Longtime manager of Coolio, Jarez, revealed to the publication that the rapper had excused himself to use the restroom while at a friend’s house in Los Angeles.
The friend reportedly called out to him but received no response after a reasonable amount of time had passed and he had not returned.
Artis Leon Ivey Jr., better known as Coolio, was found on the floor when the friend entered the bathroom out of concern.
An immediate call was made to the paramedics.
Coolio was identified as having passed away on the spot after what was possibly a cardiac arrest.
The exact cause of death, however, is still under investigation.
The rapper first gained notoriety in 1995 with the release of “Gangsta’s Paradise,” which was featured in the film “Dangerous Minds.”
The rapper, whose career began in the 1980s, is still active today.
